The co-founder of Bitter Rivals, Ted is built with the patience of a saint, the wit of the jester and the fire of Hades. Ted along with his long time nemesis, frequent punching bag and Co-Founding friend Tom Crawford create a steady diet of Water Cooler humor. Originally started to cater to MSU and UM alums across the country, Bitter Rivals has open their doors to every Wal-Mart Wolverine that has a computer. Crawdaddy (Tom third person persona) hasn’t come up with a corresponding moniker for the Spartan Brethren. Historically Speaking, Bitter Rivals was one of the first web-based sports sites. Bitter Rivals launched in the fall of 1996 to much fanfare, visitors and vitriol. Putting this into perspective, Sportsline.com (now CBSSports.com) started in 1995 followed closely by ESPN and Yahoo later in the year. Immediate success was not expected, but greatly appreciated, many times reaching over 100,000 visitors/month. Ted is also the man behind the infamous MSU billboards (which ran the week after the 2008 MSU victory over U-M in football in East Lansing and Novi, Michigan) and the "MSU scoreboard" holiday greeting cards, the first of which celebrated the Tony Banks-led MSU victory over U-M in 1995. |
